Plain-language tasks

Describe the task in everyday language

Say what you need, where the source material is, and any limits the agent should follow. It will work from the context you provide and the tools enabled for that run.

  • Ask for a report, summary, review, checklist, or file workflow.
  • Mention the files, folders, apps, or constraints that matter.
  • Add context from OCR, copied text, screenshots, or documents.
  • Keep tasks bounded to make verification clearer.

The goal field lets you define a measurable finish condition. Use it when accuracy matters; leave it collapsed for simple one-shot tasks.

Add a finish condition when the task needs one

A quick task may only need a clear request. For work with a specific outcome, use the goal field to state what the result must contain and what should be checked before the run is considered complete.

  • Define what must be true before the agent reports completion.
  • Ask for evidence when the accuracy of the output matters.
  • Ask for verification before relying on file changes, summaries, or generated deliverables; leave the field collapsed when a simple request is enough.

Tools, skills & connectors

The agent uses only enabled capabilities

Skills provide task instructions and output conventions. MCP tools and connectors provide access to configured capabilities. If a required connector is unavailable, Think-Act reports the missing requirement instead of claiming the action was completed.

Skills provide instructions for how to approach a task and format its output. Built-in skills cover common work, and reviewed organization-specific processes can be added as custom skills.

MCP Tools

Depending on your configuration, MCP connectors can provide file access, GitHub, calendar integrations, and other local tools. Failed or disabled MCP servers are not exposed to the agent.

Provide a stack trace, screen recording, or screenshot. The agent can prepare a structured issue draft with reproduction steps. Posting it requires an enabled GitHub connector and the appropriate confirmation.

Record a desktop process and prepare step-by-step documentation from it. Check the steps, add missing warnings and prerequisites, and save the stable process as a local skill if useful.

OCR → checklist

Prepare a checklist from extracted OCR text

Use OCR on a form, invoice, compliance document, or training manual, then ask the agent to organize the checked text into a checklist.

Get Think-Act for Desktop
Is the desktop agent always running in the background?

No. The agent runs only when you start a task or trigger an enabled workflow. It does not monitor your desktop or take action unless a workflow is initiated.

Can Think-Act take actions in desktop apps?

It can use tools and connectors that are installed, trusted, enabled, and permitted for the task. Actions in external systems may also require confirmation. See Skills and Integrations for details.

What happens if a required tool is missing?

Think-Act identifies the missing connector or capability instead of claiming the action was completed. Review Skills and Integrations, enable the requirement, and then run the task again.

How can I check what the agent did?

Review the final response, supporting observations, tool events, and reported changes. For tasks with a defined success criterion, Think-Act can also report whether that condition was met.

Can I recover from an unwanted change?

Supported workflows can use checkpoints and rewind controls around consequential tool actions. External changes may not always be reversible, so confirmation and review remain important. See the security controls for details.

Can I save a workflow as a reusable skill?

Yes. Once the steps and output have been reviewed, you can save the process as a local skill with its prerequisites, connector requirements, and expected result. Keep skills that can change files or external systems in manual or read-only mode until their safeguards have been tested. See Skills and Integrations for more detail.

Which operating systems support Think-Act?

Think-Act is currently available for 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11. A macOS version is planned. Check the downloads page for current system requirements.
